Farmopolis

Site: Greenwich Peninsula, London, UK (2016)
Concept, Design & Creative Direction: Wayward
Consultants: ARUP
Partners: Royal Horticulture Society, Secret Productions (Operations)

Farmopolis is a concept for an ambitious new urban farming destination – a platform for experiential production and a pioneering new model for public green space bringing together farming, food, arts and culture.

The first iteration of Farmopolis was produced as a temporary arts venue on a jetty on Greenwich Peninsula in 2016. Wayward developed the concept, creative direction and architectural designs of the project – which included a 500 person greenhouse venue, a full-service farm-to-table restaurant with bespoke furniture, a bar, and an epic garden created from tens of thousands of salvaged plants rehomed from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2016.
